This week my husband and I received a lovely tea tin from a friend that celebrates Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain. I thought I would share it with you today and I paired it with Sheltonian china tea cup and saucer from Staffordshire, England. The shape and thin lip of the cup are just perfect to me.
I really love poppies, and have a few different poppy tea cups and even a poppy tea pot. I have tried many times to grow them here in my garden, but they never take. I have tried many varieties and have given up trying to get them to grow. I guess I will just have to enjoy them while I drink my tea!
I am sharing tea today at:

May you have a tea-riffic day!

The tin looks like a fine collectible. I have a teacup similar in colour and pattern which I like for the bright colours and happy feeling it brings me.
Wow that's such a beautiful set!! Glad to see a fellow tea drinker :)
That's a beautiful tea cup!
Your poppy teacup has such a lovely shape ... very pretty. Isn't it nice to have friends who know you like tea?! This looks like a wonderful collectible. Happy Tea Day
Hello Winnie,
I like your poppy teacup and poppies in general. The tea tin looks like one you would want to hold on to as a keepsake from your friend. Would like to see your poppy teapot some time too. Thanks for sharing and joining me for Tea Time. Have a lovely day.
Blessings,
Sandi
That is sure a lovely poppy cup and saucer. I love collecting cups and saucers. Today I am taking 2 to my shop as I brought home 2 from an antiquing trip Sunday afternoon so I am giving up 2. I think I will hold the line on my collection as I don't want to be ridiculous. What a nice friend to remember you and share! So glad you linked up at Friends Sharing Tea!
I see now it was the lovely tin of tea from the friend - that is really something!
Winnie, love the poppies on your tea cup, and the little touch of blue is just perfect with it. Have a wonderful Tuesday! Hugs, Geri
What a lovely thoughtful gift - and delightful with how much you love the poppy!
What a great gift from your friend. I too have no luck growing poppies but I do love to look at them.
Oh that is a lovely tin. What a thoughtful friend. And your poppy tea cup is gorgeous! I love the vibrant colors. After a long winter the colorful tea cups are very cheery. I have tried to grow poppies too, with no luck yet.
Hugs,
Terri
What a lovely teacup! That's neat that you collect poppy themed items. I'd love to see the rest of your collection! I actually have that same tea tin! The tea was a bit strong for me, but I do love the tin :)
That tin with the then & now photos of the Queen is beautiful. And that cup, even more beautiful!
I love royal memorabilia tins! And your teacup is lovely! Love the poppies.
