Finally, Time For Card Making!

I haven't had much creative time lately.  I have a lot of home projects in the works as well as end-of-the-year busy time at work.  This week I was able to make a pair of cards for very special occasions.

The first one I am sharing is a card I made for my sister to give a friend who gave birth to a precious little boy.  I thought it would be fun to use the Tim Holtz for Stampers Anonymous stamp of the alarm clock.  I added the baby sounds coming from the clock! Small touches like blue gingham and safety pin were added to embellish the card.

The second is a card I made for a co-worker to give her daughter for her 16th birthday.  She asked that I use dark purple and gold as that is her daughter's favorite color combination.  The stamps I used on this are from a new stamp set I picked up by Dina Wakely.  The butterflies were heat embossed using Ranger Gold powder.  I think they really stood out great against the dark purple.

We are in the midst of a bathroom remodel at the house.  So a few more weeks of disarray and I will be back to crafting and blogging more regularly.  I sure miss it, and all of you!

On its way to lovely!

Hope you have a fabulous day and get to spend some time doing what you enjoy!

Waiting For Vincent Louis

There is nothing more special than awaiting the birth of a precious little baby.  I was asked to make a personalized baby shower card for a baby boy and had some fun digging through my stash to find a stamp I have not used in ages.  I've had this little baby stamp since I started stamping over 12 years ago and I found him in a dollar bin!

Supplies:
Stamps: Studio G
Paper: Gina K Designs, DCWV
Ink: Archival Cornflower Blue
Misc.: Spellbinders Dies, Stampin' Up Oval Punch

For this card I decided not to do the usual baby blue colors and think this different combination was a fun one.

Wishing many blessings to the family and friends as they await baby Vincent's arrival!

A Visit From The Stork

Hi, guys! Today I am sharing a pair of baby cards I made this weekend.  I was asked to make baby boy cards for both these ladies.

The first one used an adorable House Mouse bunny image. I was asked to personalize this card with the baby's name as well.

Supplies:
Stamps: House Mouse, Lawn Fawn Banner
Paper: Desert Storm Card stock, Gina K Designs
Ink: Memento Black, Copic Markers, Distress Ink (Gathered Twigs)
Misc.: Lawn Fawn Banner Die, Spellbinders Circle Dies, Twine, Tim Holtz Pin

The next one up is for an attorney I work with.  I was asked to make a card for her shower, and know that she is having a baby boy.

Supplies:
Stamps: Rubber Stampede, Cloud9 Design
Paper: Gina K Designs, A Muse
Ink: Memento Black, Copic Makers, Distress Inks
Misc: Memory Box Dies, Corner Rounder

This week will be a busy one at work, and home.  I hope to start my Thanksgiving cards, and Christmas cards as well.  Sure don't know where the time is going!

Until next time!

Butterflight Baby Card

Hi, guys! Hope all is well!  Today I am sharing a card I made to welcome a new baby!  A friend asked me to make a special card for our mutual friend who just gave birth to a baby boy.  Knowing Christine, I decided to use the Butterflight stamp by House Mouse for this card.  She LOVES butterflies and the way the butterfly is carrying the newborn mouse down from the heavens would be perfect for her.

Supplies:
Stamps: House Mouse, Cloud9 Designs
Paper: Gina K Designs, DCWV
Ink: Memento Black, Archival Watering Can
Misc.: Copic Makers, Wink of Stella Clear, Ribbon

I used Wink of Stella to put a touch of glitter/shine in the little flowers.  What you can't see from the card is the sentiment I used on the inside of the card.  I love Cloud9 Designs sentiments.  I wanted a religious sentiment for Christine, and one that went with this fun image.  The one they have went PERFECTLY with it: "With every little baby's birth God sends His love and joy to earth."

I guess you are wondering what is up with all the "mouse" cards this week, and I can honestly say it just happened that I reached for these cute guys this week.  I love them all!

I am entering this card in the following challenge:

Until next time!

WOYWW #222- Bundle of Joy (House Mouse Baby Card)

Hi, guys! Hope everyone is having a great day! Since it is Wednesday, I am sharing what is on my work desk with you!  Thank you to Julia for all the desk-hopping fun!

You will see that I am working on a baby card for a co-worker's baby shower.  She is having a baby boy, and I went with this adorable House Mouse image.

I had out a lot of dies trying to figure out what would work the best to frame this cute little guy.

Lots of papers to choose from, and lots of blue buttons to sort through.

I thought I would include a picture of the finished card so you could see how it turned out. Cute, right?

Looking forward to visiting a lot of desks today, and seeing what everyone is working on!  I highly recommend you join in the desk-snooping fun!  Just pay a visit to the Stamping-Ground for all the details!

Until next time!

Cuter Than Most

Hi, guys! I decided to make a quick baby card today using the adorable onesie I used the other day. This time I decided to stamp and emboss the sentiment with bright white embossing powder.  I love the way it pops against the blue.

Supplies:
Stamps: Too Much Fun Rubber Stamps, Studio G
Paper: Gina K Designs
Ink: Versafine Black, Versamark
Misc.: White Embossing Powder, Mini Buttons

I have had this 99 cent sentiment stamp in my collection for ages and never used it.  I think it is perfect for a cute little one.

Have a great day!

House Mouse Baby Cards

Hi, guys! This week I was asked to make baby cards for some friends:  one for a girl named Stella and one for a boy named Sam.  I decided to use the same stamp but vary the colors and papers to give them a different look. The stamp I chose to use is called Butterflight by House Mouse.

I decided to use different color schemes for each and to personalize each with the new arrival's name. The images were colored with my Prisma colored pencils and Distress Stickles dry glitter was applied to the lily of the valley for some sparkle.

For the inside of each card I used the sentiment by Cloud9 Design that read:

A wee bit of heaven
drifted down from above,
a handful of happiness,
a heart full of love
            Helen Steiner Rice

I thought it was perfect with the butterfly bringing the tiny arrival!

Hope you enjoyed these cards today as much as I enjoyed creating them!

Until next time!

Welcome Baby Jackson Liam

Hi, guys! Today I made a card to welcome my friend Alysia's new baby boy.  For this card I used a House Mouse image that I love.

Supplies:
Stamps: House Mouse
Ink: Memento Black, Distress Ink
Paper: Gina K Designs, DCWV
Misc.: Copic Markers, Papertrey Ink Buttons, Ribbon

The tiny mice in the baby shoes always make me smile, and I hope this card makes Alysia smile.

Making cards for new babies is a favorite occasion for me.  It is such a happy time and you can use such sweet colors and adorable images and sentiments.

Have a great day!  Until the next time I get my fingers inky!

Welcome, Eli Patrick!

Hi, guys!  Hope all is well.  I have been having a great weekend and a productive one!  My husband is busy putting together my furniture for my stamp room as I type this.  I go in and help him when he needs another set of hands.  The furniture was delivered this week from IKEA.  I can't wait to see it all put together.  It is so exciting!

I thought I would share a card I made for my brother.  He is the one who has been helping me non-stop with getting my blog up and running and answering my computer questions.  My brother asked for a special card to be made for a co-worker of his who is having her first baby.  He supplied me with the name of the baby so I could make it personalized.

Supplies:
Stamps: Stampendous
Paper: Stampin' Up
Ink: Memento Black, Vintage Photo Distress Ink
Misc.: Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, Oval Punches, Ribbon, Gems, Distress Tool

I also made a graduation card for a co-worker to give for her cousin's graduation.  I haven't shared any graduation cards yet this year so I thought this would be a great one to start with. I used a computer generated name and year.  The diplomas were all clear embossed, and the hats were stamped with black Versafine ink and clear embossed.

Supplies:
Stamps: Stampendous, Vap! Scrap
Paper: Stampin' Up, Gina K Designs (White, Black)
Ink: Versamark, Memento Black, Versafine Black
Misc.: Clear Embossing Powder, Oval Punches, Gems, Twine, Circle Punches

I am off to do some barbecuing with my hubby.  I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend and have a great week ahead!
