Happy Birthday, Cowboy Bob!

On Saturday evening, my husband and I went to a party in the city to celebrate one of Alan's long-time friends, Cowboy Bob, who was having a birthday party.  Bob is one of the founders of the theatre company that Alan belongs to.  Bob is always wearing a cowboy hat and boots no matter where he goes.  He also has a love of horses, and always portrays the Lone Ranger when the company performs it.  So I decided to make this card for his birthday!

You Are A True Friend

Hope you had a nice weekend!  We had snow again on Friday and it made for a bumpy commute, but I am glad that it is melting fast!  I am hoping that this was winter's last snow for the season.  It has been brutally cold and I am itching for Spring weather to arrive and match what the calendar is saying!

Today I am sharing a birthday card I made for my dear friend, Mariola.  She is someone very special and she is a cat lover.  Her cat Brownie is the light of her life.  When it came time to make her a birthday card,  I knew I had to put a cat on it!

Using Stampers Anonymous Blueprint Stamps for a First Birthday Card

It has been awhile since I was able to put up a card I made! Time has been working against me lately. Today I am sharing a card I made for my friend to give a little boy for his first birthday.  I was only asked to incorporate blue and yellow.  I thought it would be fun to use my favorite Blueprint stamps by Tim Holtz as the images are so festive and large.  This card is not my usual small size, as I used a full sheet of card stock scored in half.

I used the computer to personalize the card and even add the boy's age.  Clear Wink of Stella was added to the images to give them a shine and added interest.

Happy Mother's Day - You're The Best Mom!

Today we celebrate mothers for all they do for us.  The word mother is not one to take lightly or for granted.  They are the foundation of the family and guide us along the way and help to make us who we are.  I am blessed to have a wonderful mom.  She raised 6 children and even now (I am no spring chicken), she is someone who I go to for advice and comfort or, when things are going great, someone who I need to share the good news with.

I thought I would share a card I made for mom for Mother's Day.  A bit of background: my parents have a dog named Chester who my sister found abandoned and abused in a park.  My parents took him in and my mom cares for him like he was her 7th child.  He has become a vital part of our family and so when I saw this image (in a Father's Day set no less!), I knew it would be perfect for my mom.

I wanted the card to be quirky and fun (just like Chester) so the bones were stamped randomly around the card.  I received a call from mom to let me know she loved the card!

Chocolate Chip Cookies On The Brain

Did you ever watch a television show and see a food on there that you just HAD to have?  That happened to me this week.  My husband and I were watching a rerun of Throwdown with Bobby Flay and the focus was on chocolate chip cookies.  He went up against a pair of women who competed in the Ironman competition, and who have bakeries in NYC called Levain.  Their cookies looked so yummy (and as big as my head!).  I mentioned to my husband that I would love to try one of those cookies some day. Well, he was in Manhattan on Friday and picked some up.  Oh, my word, are they good.  We weren't able to eat a whole one, so we have been munching a little at a time.

If you ever visit NYC or are a local, I highly recommend a visit.  I hope someday to get up there to check it out for myself.

This weekend I was asked to make a birthday card for a little girl to give her grandma. The only information I received was that the girl and grandma bake cookies together, and since I had chocolate chip cookies on my brain, this is the card I made for her.

A Visit From The Stork

The first one used an adorable House Mouse bunny image. I was asked to personalize this card with the baby's name as well.

Butterflight Baby Card

Hi, guys! Hope all is well!  Today I am sharing a card I made to welcome a new baby!  A friend asked me to make a special card for our mutual friend who just gave birth to a baby boy.  Knowing Christine, I decided to use the Butterflight stamp by House Mouse for this card.  She LOVES butterflies and the way the butterfly is carrying the newborn mouse down from the heavens would be perfect for her.

I used Wink of Stella to put a touch of glitter/shine in the little flowers.  What you can't see from the card is the sentiment I used on the inside of the card.  I love Cloud9 Designs sentiments.  I wanted a religious sentiment for Christine, and one that went with this fun image.  The one they have went PERFECTLY with it: "With every little baby's birth God sends His love and joy to earth."

I guess you are wondering what is up with all the "mouse" cards this week, and I can honestly say it just happened that I reached for these cute guys this week.  I love them all!

A Mice Engagement Card

Hi, guys! Today I am sharing a card I made for my good friend Asia.  Asia is one of my Jane Austen group ladies, and is a blessing in my life.  Asia and Darek got engaged recently and I thought I would send them a fun card to mark the occasion.

This sweet mouse couple caught my eye and I thought they would be fun to use for this card.  I found that I had buttons in shades that matched the piece of patterned paper I used.

Silent Night, Holy Night

Hi, guys! Hope all is well!  Today I am sharing a Christmas card I made for a friend's son.  I knew I used my nativity stamps the last few years on her cards, but I wanted my card to reflect the birth of Christ, so this is what I came up with.

I thought using the Star would be a perfect way to make this a Christmas scene. I really love when I can make scenes using stamps from different lines together.  It really is a fun way to get more out of your stamps.

The use of the white and silver embossing really stands out nicely against the navy background.

Bridal Shower Wishes

Hi, guys! Showers are always fun cards to make as they always are so full of excitement whether it be for a new bride, or even an expectant mother.  Today I made a bridal shower card for a coworker to give to her daughter.  I wanted it to have a modern look,  and something different.   I used this fun stamp by A Muse Artstamps as the focal image.  It always cracks me up.  I love that I can use it for any type of shower that I need a card for.

Housewarming (Modern/Funky House)

Hi, guys!  Hope all is well! Today I am sharing a fun housewarming card I made for a family.  I decided to use my Hero Arts house stamp as well as their "Polaroid" frame stamp.  Not sure what they called it as I was given this stamp a while ago.  Who doesn't take pictures of their home when they first get it, right?  It is a fun way to share in the excitement of what a new home brings.

I decided to use ivory card stock for the image and kept the colors toned down as the card is for both males and females.  I paper pieced the door and the chimney to add some fun and color.  It is hard to see in this photo, but the black background is embossed with polka dots to match the house.
