Tea Time Tuesday - Tea With Humor

Hope all is well! This weekend was filled with family and friends and lots of summertime fun.  Speaking of fun, I thought I would share a pair of tea infusers that my sister Maggie gave me for my birthday.  They are very funny, and if you knew my sister, you would see they are right up her alley!

I am looking forward to breaking them out to use.  Not sure which will be my favorite.  The Mana"tea" is simply adorable.

WOYWW #268 - "Candy Is Dandy, But …"

I can't believe it is Wednesday already, so you know that means! I am sharing what is on my work desk with you!  I was asked for a last minute favor at work today.  A friend needed a card for her dentist and his technician as I am gathering she was a bit of a rough patient.  She picked up liquor for them and wanted to thank them with a card to go with it.

I am not too sure what it says about me that I have a bunch of stamps of various drinks and bottles!

Here is the card so far!

Thank you to Julia for the desk hopping fun!  Why don't you join in and share what you are working on?  I would love to see!

Until next time!

Say It With Flowers

As I have previously written, I haven't been doing much in the way of crafting or card making lately.  I have been out and about enjoying summer and spending time with family and friends.  I had to make an exception to my break when I was asked by a partner at the firm I work for if I could make a special card for him to give his wife for their anniversary.  He had never asked me before (normally, I make them for assistants and a few other staff members), so I said yes.  The only guidance he gave me is his wife loves color and flowers, so this is what I came up with.

Supplies:
Stamps: Hero Arts, Paper Smooches, Gina K Designs
Paper: Gina K Designs
Ink: Archival Inks, Memento Black
Misc: Copic Markers, Gems

Here is another example of one card using three stamp sets by different companies.  It is a fun way to get the most of the many supplies I have and give the sets a different look.

It felt so good to get my fingers inky!  Hoping to just find time to create for myself soon.  I know I have relatives coming next week and a block party to attend next weekend as well so I am not sure when I will fit it in.  Summer is really in full swing here!

If it is summertime in your area, I hope you are having a lot of fun and family/friend time, too!

Until next time!

WOYWW #267 - You Are Loved

My desk this week was very busy!  I needed to make a special card for a special woman who is having a health crisis and is in need of good cheer.  You will see I had out my inks, Distress Markers and lots of stamps.

One thing I love about making cards is how they can make someone feel special and cared for.  I know I love to go to my mailbox and find a surprise from time to time.  I hope this card lets the recipient know how much she is loved as she begins her treatments.

Here is the finished card:

Thank you to Julia for the desk hopping fun!  I am looking forward to catching up with you and seeing what you are all working on! If you're not part of the fun, why not visit Julia and join in?  We would love to see what is on your desk!

Until next time!

Tea Time Tuesday - Roy Kirkham Tea cup

Hope all is well!  I have been busy this week celebrating my birthday with family and friends. Today I am sharing a lovely tea cup and saucer given to me by my good friend Mariola.  It is fine china by Roy Kirkham from England.  The cup has a very large capacity which is something I just love!

This year I was given a bunch of yummy teas and other goodies that I will be sharing over the next couple of Tuesdays!

Fountain Pen Lover Birthday Card

Many of you know that I have a love of fountain pens, and use them to write to many pen pals.  I found out this week that one of my newest pen pals is celebrating a birthday this week, one day after mine.  I decided I wanted to make her a fountain pen themed card and had a fun time sorting through my stamps to come up with this card!

Supplies:
Stamps: Scrappy Happiness, Hero Arts, Picture Show
Ink: Archival Inks, Distress Markers
Paper: Gina K Designs
Misc.: Simon Says Stamp Curve Die, White Gel Pen, Spritzer Tool

I love when I can sift through my large collection of stamps and put various companies together on one card.

As a lover of fountain pens, I am accustom to random splatters of ink drops, and think it was a fun addition to the card.  I love the handwritten look of the sentiment by Scrappy Happiness.

I have a new fountain pen on my table today.  An early birthday gift to myself!  It is a Namiki Falcon that I have been wanting for a while, and hope to use it for some flex writing.  It is my first gold-nibbed pen, so it is rather exciting for me.

Wishing Emma a very Happy Birthday!

Until next time!

Happy Birthday, Dear Friend (and USA, too!)

Soon we will be celebrating the Fourth of July here in the U.S.A.  When I was picking out a card to share with you today, I decided to share a card I made for my friend Asia's birthday this week.  I think it is appropriate also for wishing America a very "Happy Birthday!"

Supplies:
Stamps: Stampers Anonymous, Simon Says Stamp
Paper: Simon Says Stamp
Ink: Memento Black, Archival
Misc.: Copic Markers, Corner Rounder

You may have noticed that I haven't been blogging that much lately.  Lots going on currently, and with summer added to the mix, time has been flying by.  I made a promise to myself to slow down and enjoy the nice weather, and to work on myself a bit!  Working on getting more exercise and making better diet choices.  Wish me luck!

Wishing all those in the U.S. a very Happy Fourth of July!

Until next time!
