Tea Time Tuesday - A Precious Teapot

Today is Tuesday, and I am sharing a special teapot with you today.  A friend of my husband lost his dad recently.  While packing away his father's things and home, he came across a teapot that belonged to his family for quite some time. It belonged originally to his grandfather.  Steve wanted the teapot to have a good home and since he knows how much I love teapots, he gave it to us for Christmas.

Isn't she lovely?  I love her gray hair and the painted details on her hat and cape.  I noticed that the teapot was made in the USA, which is something I haven't seen on a teapot in a long time.

You may have noticed I haven't shared since Christmas, as I haven't been feeling well, but am now feeling much better and hope to be back on Tuesdays sharing my love of tea and tea-related goodies with you!

Christmas Cookie Swap and a Favorite Christmas Teapot

The past few weeks have been filled with lots of activity.  Lots of work, and time for some fun as well. I hosted my first ever Christmas cookie swap.  I had 19 friends and family members join us for the fun and we each baked three dozen cookies to share.  I have never seen so many cookies on a table in my life.

I had two of my nieces come and they were a tremendous help.  Little Grace (age 7) even made a Grinch guacamole for the party.  Very sweet and tasty too!

I think the party was a hit, and hope to make it an annual event.

Since it is Christmas week, I decided to take out another of my Christmas teapots.  This one was given to me over 25 years ago by my friend Sherri. Times have changed, as I used to type on a typewriter at my first few jobs, and this teapot always makes me smile to see it.  I wonder if I could still type on one after years of typing on computers!

Until next time!

Tea Time Tuesday - Santa Claus Is Coming To Town

This Friday my husband and I started decorating our home for Christmas.  The tree is trimmed and I started bringing out my Christmas teapots.  Today I am sharing my Santa teapot with you.  He is just so jolly and always makes me smile.

This weekend I started making Christmas cards for my friend Erich to give.  He asked for a dozen cards and he tends to like the humorous or sweet cards.  So the first one I made was this one.  I used a favorite vintage Santa image and a fun stamp from the Hashtag Stampers Anonymous set I won.  Hope you like it!

How are you preparing for the holiday season?  I am attending a Christmas party this weekend, and am hosting a cookie swap the following week!  Lots of holiday cheer coming my way!

Tea Time Tuesday - Tom Turkey Teapot

With Thanksgiving approaching on Thursday, I thought I would share my Thanksgiving teapot with you.  I love the shape and the turkey!

I really enjoy breaking out my holiday teapots. On Friday, I will be breaking out my Christmas teapots for the season.  I have many to share with you!

Little Boo Teapot

Today is Tuesday, so I am sharing one of my Halloween teapots with you!  This one was given to me by my sister many years ago.  I love this little ghost coming out of the pumpkin! Isn't it adorable?

I thought I would also share my candy bowl that I decorated with candy corn.  I have had this bowl for years, and when I come to the door the kids and adults alike want the bowl!

I am really looking forward to Friday night when the little goblins and witches come to visit!

Tea Time Tuesday - Tea and Temp-tations

Today is Tea Time Tuesday, and I am sharing my newest tea and a new tea mug!

The tea was an anniversary gift from my husband.  It is Stash Double Bergamot Decaf Earl Grey.  I had to switch my beloved tea to decaf, and wasn't able to find the Double Bergamot in tea bag form, but Alan found it loose for me and picked me up a couple of bagfuls!  The new tea mug is by Temp-tations and matches my bakeware sets.  I love the large size of it, and the cover and the adorable spoon! I am a very happy camper!

Tea Time Tuesday - Antique Reflections

Today I am sharing another of the tea pots in my collection.  This one I found shopping one day and I knew I had to take it home.  I love the shape, and the scene on it. Even though this tea pot is new, it does have a vintage feel that I love.

Tea Time Tuesday - Fortnum & Mason Goodies

Today is Tuesday, and I am going to share a special gift I received this week with you.  My dear friend Monika traveled to England this summer and brought me back some wonderful tea treats!

Monika was able to visit Fortnum & Mason and was kind enough to think of me.  Tonight I will be drinking my new tea with a thankful heart. Isn't the shopping bag lovely, too? I always bring my own bags to the market, so this is something that will get a lot of use (well, maybe -  it is too pretty to carry groceries in!).

I have never tried Smoky Earl Grey, so this will be a treat!

Tea Time Tuesday - Fun Vessel For Saving Wine Corks

For today's Tea Time Tuesday, I thought I would share something different with you.  My sister gave me this adorable tea pot to house my wine cork collection.  My husband and I honeymooned at a local vineyard, and when she saw this adorable tea pot, she thought of me right away.

I thought I would share these books I used in the photo with you.  Alice's Tea Cup is a wonderful cookbook by one of my favorite local tea shops.  The scones alone were worth the price of the book.

If you are like me, you will have a bunch of various tea books.  I love to pull them out and enjoy learning about the lore of tea.

Hope you have a great day!  Thanks for stopping in!

Tea Time Tuesday - Creativi-tea

Today I am sipping tea in a fun mug that I found years ago.  It brings together two of my passions, crafting and tea!  Inside the mug the definition of creative-tea is noted as: n. Having more creative ability while drinking tea.  Very true in my case.  I find I create better with a nice cup of tea at hand.

Isn't the tea bag holder lovely?  My mom knows how much I love vintage images and when she saw a set of these with various ladies on them she knew she had to pick them up for me.  Mom said they would be perfect for tea parties, especially for my friends in our Jane Austen group!

Currently, I am going through my tea related stamps to come up with a birthday card for a dear friend. I have a couple of drawers dedicated to tea stamps, and many more in sets.  Part of the fun of card making for me is the process of going through my stash and picking images that "fit" a recipient.  I hope to share what I come up with later in the week!

Tea Time Tuesday - Tea With Humor

Hope all is well! This weekend was filled with family and friends and lots of summertime fun.  Speaking of fun, I thought I would share a pair of tea infusers that my sister Maggie gave me for my birthday.  They are very funny, and if you knew my sister, you would see they are right up her alley!

I am looking forward to breaking them out to use.  Not sure which will be my favorite.  The Mana"tea" is simply adorable.

Tea Time Tuesday - Roy Kirkham Tea cup

Hope all is well!  I have been busy this week celebrating my birthday with family and friends. Today I am sharing a lovely tea cup and saucer given to me by my good friend Mariola.  It is fine china by Roy Kirkham from England.  The cup has a very large capacity which is something I just love!

This year I was given a bunch of yummy teas and other goodies that I will be sharing over the next couple of Tuesdays!

Tea Time Tuesday - Little Dutch Girl Teapot

The summer is here and next month is my birthday, so, when going through my tea pots and cups, I decided to share a teapot my good friend Mariola gave me for my birthday a while back. She is a beauty!  I fell in love with her in a shop, and my friend saw it and picked it up for me.  I don't have any like her, and I just love that she is dressed in traditional clothes.  The handle is the basket of flowers and the pitcher is the spout.

She is so very dainty and sweet.  I love her facial features, and the fine hands.

Tea Time Tuesday - Tea & Sympathy and a Visitor

Lately, I have been traveling and doing a lot of running around.  It was nice to have a few hours alone in the middle of Manhattan and I decided to have tea at a small tea shop called Tea & Sympathy.  Luck was on my side as there wasn't a wait and I got a corner table where I could enjoy my tea while I read my Kindle.  My favorite thing on the menu is their shepherd's pie.  It is really delicious.

The Alice in Wonderland teapot is one of my favorites.  A few years ago I picked one up here for my home.  It always makes me smile.

After a nice quiet dinner, I pulled into my driveway to find a visitor having his/her dinner!  I had to snap a photo as the bunny is in front of my newly painted garden sign!  The Distress Paint is holding up nicely with all the rain.

Tea Time Tuesday - Afternoon Royal Tea

I have been rather quiet lately as I was away on vacation with my husband in Colonial Williamsburg, VA. It is a magical place to me, as this is my eighth visit and I never tire of it.  Currently, I am counting the days until I can return there!

One year my mom took me for tea at The Williamsburg Inn, and I loved it.  Now, my husband and I make it a point to plan an afternoon visit there for their Afternoon Royal Tea.  It is such a beautiful inn, and even Queen Elizabeth has had tea there when she visited.

The setting was lovely and the view of their gardens amazing.  The food was delicious and the tea was very nice.  I went for the Earl Grey as that is my favorite.

The weather in Virginia was very hot, and the slowing down in mid-afternoon for tea was just what I needed.  There is very little in life that is better that a leisurely tea with your sweetie.  I am very glad mine likes to join me in this ritual.

These yummy treats really bolstered me up for what was to come that evening.  My husband and I took part in an evening program called In Defense of Our Liberty in which we joined George Washington's militia! Yep, it must have been a sight to see me try and march and follow orders.  I was very clumsy and off count in my marching, and nearly fainted when the officers came at me with bayonets (I am short so I was in the front row!). It was a real eye opener for me and I can't tell you how much I thanked our soldiers past, present and future that night.

If you are ever in Virginia, I highly recommend you pay a visit to Colonial Williamsburg, and of course have tea at the Inn!

Tea Time Tuesday - Diamond Jubilee Celebration

While thinking about what my next Tea Time Tuesday post would be, I received a lovely tea bag gift from my Canadian pen pal Heather.  Along with her lovely letter, she enclosed a Twinings The Queen's Diamond Jubilee tea bag!  Well, I knew then that I would be sharing my Diamond Jubilee Bone China mug that my friend Steve gave me for my birthday!

Tonight I will be enjoying this yummy tea in my mug along with a good book!  Thank you, Heather, for the tea surprise!

Tea Time Tuesday - Strawberries, Anyone?

Happy tea day! Today I am sharing a sweet tea cup that I love!  It is Lyndale Royal Albert.  This time of year, the gardens are starting to come to life, and what better fruit to illustrate springtime than strawberries?

The spoon I paired with this cup is sweet, isn't it?  The little tea pot has a lovely rose motif on it.

I tried growing strawberries in my garden for a few years.  They would grow until they were almost ready to eat, and birds and squirrels would eat them before I did.  I gave up trying to grow them myself, and use my tea cup instead!

Tea Time Tuesday - Tea With Pooh Bear

Today is Tea Time Tuesday, and I decided to share one of the tea pots I have had for many years.  I picked it up in Disney World on my first vacation there.  With my name being Winnie, I bet you wouldn't be surprised to see this guy in my tea pot collection:

Yep, Winnie the Pooh!  I remember carrying this guy in my luggage on the flight home.  I love how the tea flows out of the honey pot!

Tea Time Tuesday - The First Gift

Happy Tea Day!  For today, I thought I would share a fun piece of my tea collection with you today. Many years ago I received this teabag squeezer from Alan (who would become my husband years later).  We were just friends back then, and this little gift is something that gets used daily and is very special to me (and Alan, too!).

Alan gave me one for my mom back then as well.  Hers broke and she needed a new one, and Alan was able to get her a new one, but not as sturdy as this one.  I have many of these type of squeezers, but none have the sentiment behind them.

Tea Time Tuesday - My Coffee (Tea) Table

One of my favorite pieces of furniture in my living room is my table from Ikea.  I love that it has a massive drawer and a glass top, and it enabled me to display some of my tea cups, saucers and other fun tea accessories.

I love being able to see my treasures, and even change them up from time to time.   You may notice the candle holder on top of the table.  My husband and I picked it up on our honeymoon at our local vineyards.  It is a stave from a wine cask! Not sure you can see the bend in it but it is cool, and, when lit, gives the room a very soft look.  When Hurricane Sandy hit and we lost power for a week, this piece came in handy and made the darkness bearable.
