Dear Ol' Dad

I thought I would share the cards I made for my father and father-in-law for Father's Day.  I didn't post them beforehand as I wanted to make sure they had them before others saw them.

The first card up is the one I made for my father.  I decided to go with a vintage feel and use the fun Found Relative cards and other goodies that I have been enjoying lately.  I used Tim Holtz rub-ons directly on the cards for added accents.

For my father in-law I went with a vintage feel as well, but something softer and more distressed.  I know that he loves to watch birds, and one of my pen pals (and friend) sent me a beautiful stamp by Magenta and I knew it would be perfect for this card. The patterned paper and label sticker I used are both by Tim Holtz as well. Gathered Twigs Distressed ink was used to add the vintage and worn look.

I hope you enjoyed seeing these cards as much as I enjoyed making them.

Have a fabulous day!  Until next time!

Father's Day

Hi, guys!  Hope all is well!  Yesterday was Father's Day and I hope you spent it with those you love. Yesterday my hubby and I had his father over for a barbecue.  It was a lot of fun and extremely tasty!

Grilled Marinated Flank Steak and plenty of sides

Hubby knows how important it is to express your love to your dad, so he made his own card for his dad!  I thought I would share it with you!  His dad loved it!

He used a woodgrain background stamp on kraft card stock, and lots of Tim Holtz hardware.

I will be visiting my dad sometime soon, but thought I would share the card I made for him.  I used the fun goodies from my June Simon Says Stamp Kit.  It was a hoot to use, and stretched my creativity, as it is not my normal style.  But it suits my dad well, as he likes funny cards and nothing too sappy.

I am very blessed to have such a great father! I was just remembering the other day about the time he took me to a Father/Daughter dance when I was a Girl Scout Leader.  I was in my 30s and he was such a good sport to accompany me.  It was a full square dance, and if you knew my dad, you would know it was funny as he is not a dancer. Square Dancing in NYC is not the norm, either!  But what a great sport! It is one of my favorite memories dancing around with him.

Hope you had a fabulous weekend!  Until next time, my friends!

Some Masculine Cards

Hi, guys! Hope all is well!  Father's Day is rapidly approaching and so I thought I would share some of the cards I have made for this holiday.

I made this first one for a friend to give her husband from their little girl.  Seth is a coach and loves lots of sports, so I thought it would be a fun one for him.

Last year I was asked to make a card for a friend's father-in-law and I made it using lots of metal, etc.  So this year, I decided to go in a different direction and use woodgrain and a cute pup fishing.

The last card up today is one I made for my brother for his birthday.  I decided to make this fun shirt card using some patterned paper that I thought was perfect for a man's shirt in its look and texture.  I added some very tiny buttons as well.

I am entering this last card in the Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge: Use A Button
If you have some buttons waiting to be used, why not join in the fun!

I will be sharing the Father's Day card I made my dad after he gets it, so it remains a surprise!  I am not going to list all the supplies since I shared a lot of cards today.  If you have any questions, feel free to email me and I will get back to you!

Thanks for visiting!

God, Family, Country and The Pittsburgh Steelers

Hi, guys!  Hope you are having a great weekend.  My husband and I are working on my stamp room and a few other things around the house.

I thought I would share the Father's Day card I made for my father.  If you know my dad, you will know he loves a great many things.  He loves God, his family, our great country and the Pittsburgh Steelers (not to mention a beer and some chips to go along with the game!)  So when I decided to make this card I knew I had to use the Steeler colors!

Supplies:
Stamps: Sweet & Sassy Stamps
Ink: Memento Black Ink, Copic Markers
Paper: Stampin' Up, Gina K Designs (White and Black)
Misc.: Gems. Spellbinders Deckle Rectangle Dies

Our family always roots and cheers for the Steelers (with the exception of one of my brothers who insists on rooting for the NY Jets)  as my dad was raised in Pennsylvania.  This was a fun card to make and I know he liked it as he called to tell me so.

Wishing my dad a very Happy Father's Day and a big thank you for all you have done for me and our family.  I hope all the dads out there enjoy their special day.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!!  Until next time!

Father's Day Cards, Part II

Hi, guys!  TGIF!  It is nearly Father's Day so I thought I would share a few more cards I made to celebrate various dads.

This first one I made for a friend's husband.  They are a great couple with an adorable little girl.  I thought this card would sum up her love for her husband and how great a dad he is to their daughter.

Supplies:
Stamps: Stampin' Up
Paper: Stampin' Up, Strathmore Watercolor Paper
Ink: Archival Black, Tim Holtz Distress Markers
Misc.: Ribbon, Cuttlebug Embossing Plate

I enjoyed watercoloring the focal image.  I am enjoying the Tim Holtz Distress Markers.  I used my water brush to paint the color on like watercolor.  It is so fun and relaxing to do.  I computer generated the sentiment for the cover.

The next card is one I made for my friend Erich's dad.  I decided to use chalks to apply color to the image of the old-time truck.

Supplies:
Stamps: Sweet & Sassy Stamps
Paper: Stampin' Up, Gina K Designs (White)
Ink: Stampin' Up
Misc.: Stampin' Up Chalks

I hope you have a great weekend!  Have FUN!

Father Knows Best!

Hi, guys!  Father's Day is right around the corner and so I thought I would share a few cards I made for this great occasion.

This first card I made for my father-in-law.  I used gold metal and embossed it with a fun embossing folder of various tools.  My husband told me his dad always works with tools and would love it. I sanded the metal down a bit to accentuate the embossing.

Supplies:
Stamps: Studio G
Paper: Ten Seconds Studio, Stampin' UP
Ink: Stampin' Up
Misc.: Craft Tools Embossing Folder

The next card I am sharing I made for a friend's father-in-law.  I decided to use the metal sheet again and emboss it with Tim Holtz's embossing folder of pocket watches.  I sanded this one, too.

Supplies:
Stamps: Sweet & Sassy Stamps
Ink: Stampin' Up
Paper: Ten Seconds Studio, Stampin' Up

I am sure you noticed that I didn't share the one I have made for my dad.  I know he checks out my blog and don't want to ruin the surprise.  It is a fun one and I will share it after he receives it.

Have a great day!
