Do You Remember Speedy?

Hi, guys!  Hope all is well!  I may be dating myself, but I was asked to make a get-well card for my friend to give and I thought about using my Speedy stamp by Viva Las Vegas Stamps.  Do you remember him from the old Alka-Seltzer ads?  I do, and he always makes me smile!  I figured he would bring cheer to the recipient!

Supplies:
Stamps: Viva Las Vegas
Paper: Gina K Designs
Ink: Memento Black, Copic Markers
Misc.: Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, Circle Punches, Bakers Twine, White Gel Pen

I decided to add white pigment ink directly to my embossing folder, and am pleased with how it gave it a softer look.  I wanted to keep the blue, white and orange theme throughout the card to reflect the colors of Speedy.  My white gel pen made an appearance for this card as I added it in some of the circle centers.

Don't you miss some of the old commericals from childhood?  My hubby and I were talking about commercials after I made this card, and he sang me the Wheaties jingle his mother used to sing to him. It cracked me up as that was one I never heard before.  But to this day, hubby has to have his Wheaties a few days a week for breakfast! I loved the old Coca-Cola ads and can remember singing along with them!  What was your favorite?

Until next time!

Sparkly and Pink Get Well Card

Hi, guys! For today, I am sharing a card I made for a friend to give to a co-worker who had surgery.  She asked me to make the card "pink and sparkly" as that is her personality and would make her smile.  I decided to make a floral card with plenty of bling and pink.

Supplies:
Stamps: Hero Arts/Basic Grey
Paper: Gina K Designs
Ink: Hero Arts Shadow Inks
Misc.: Bling, Ribbon

I really believe in the power of a good card to lift one's spirits.  I sure hope this accomplishes just that today!

Enjoy the day!  Until next time!

Get Well Card For An Aunt

Hi, guys! Hope you are all faring well.  I thought I would share a card I made for a friend to give her aunt who is recovering from surgery. I think I am feeling Spring fever as I am enjoying using birds and florals lately, as well as fun color!

Supplies:
Stamps: Stampin' Up
Ink: Black Archival, Distress Ink, Prisma Colored Pencils
Paper: Gina K Designs, Creative Imaginations
Misc.: Spellbinders Dies, Pearls, Memory Box Die

I think this bird is just adorable.  It is an oldie but a goodie that I had in my collection of retired Stampin' Up stamps.  I used my Prisma pencils to color the image.

Wishing Aunt Flo a very speedy recovery!!

Until next time!

House Mouse Christmas and Get Well Cards

Hi, guys!  Hope all is well on your end. I wanted to tell you some fun news with you today.  I was one of the 12 winners on Tim Holtz's blog for my December Tag that I shared here the other day!  I was so excited to learn this on New Year's Day!  What a fun way to start my New Year!   Being able to make all 12 tags was so much fun and I am looking forward to starting the new ones for 2013!

Today I will be sharing two cards I made using stamps by House Mouse.  The first one up is the Christmas card I made for my husband.

Supplies:
Stamps: House Mouse, Anna Griffin
Paper: Papertrey Ink, Gina K (White), Echo Park
Ink: Distress Ink, Memento Black
Misc.: Snowflake Button, Tag Punch, Brad, Copic Markers

The next card up I made for my husband to send to a co-worker who fell ill over the holiday.  I think this image is adorable and hope it will bring a smile to the recipient's face.  I used colored pencils and gamsol to color the image.

Supplies:
Stamps: House Mouse
Paper: Gina K (White), Stampin' Up
Ink: Archival Black, Distress Ink
Misc.: Prisma Colored Pencils, Gamsol, Ribbon, Corner Rounder

These were fun to make.  I love to use these stamps and do so when time allows for coloring.  For the first one I used Copic Markers which gave them a bolder look.  The second one got a softer look by using the colored pencils.

Have a great day!  Until next time!
