Tim Holtz August 2014 Tag - Blind Bird Justice

Here I am finally getting around to making my tag for the monthly Tim Holtz challenge of the 12 tags of 2014.  This summer has been super busy with both fun and crazy things (like a flood!). I was glad to spend some time creating and getting my fingers inky today.

This tag incorporated so many various mediums (Distress Inks, Distress Stains, Distress Paint and Embossing Paste), lots of stencils and techniques and fun products, too.  I used a piece of filmstrip ribbon over the bird's eyes, so now you know why I named it as I did.

I will be giving this to my friend Ruth who enjoys my tags and as a thank you as I have been so behind in my crafting.  Hoping this autumn my fingers will be plenty inky again!

Have you tried making a tag?  It is so much fun, and it is a way of learning new techniques and having some creative time.  Visit Tim's blog and enjoy the fun along with us!

Until next time!

February 2014 Tim Holtz Tag - 12 Tags of 2014

I cannot believe how fast this month has flown by! I know February is a short month, but this one just got away from me early on!

Today I am sharing the tag I made for the monthly tag challenge - 12 Tags of 2014 by Tim Holtz.  This month he did stenciling with distress inks and a fun chalkboard technique.  I was fortunate that I have the stamp Tim used this month, as well as the stencil (this is not always the case). After that I was on my own to give it my own touches.  As many of you know, I have been participating in this challenge from the beginning and some months I get them done early, and other months I am scrambling to finish.  This was one of the latter.

I am looking forward to seeing what Tim creates for March!  I actually will be around that day, so maybe I can get a jump on it next time!   If you haven't tried a tag, I would suggest you pop over and see what all the talk is about.  You will learn fun techniques and how to use fun products and enjoy such a great community!  I love seeing what everyone creates and how unique everyone's work turns out to be.

Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2014 - January - Leave Ordinary Behind

My husband loves his pocket watches.  He has three:  one his parents gave him when he graduated college, one he bought himself and the one I gave him when we got married. So, tonight I had an extra good time creating my monthly Tim Holtz Tag as it featured such a watch.  Tim used his large die, but I had his mini die and so I decided to give it a go using that one.  For this tag, I used only Tim Holtz and/or Ranger products.  That is not always the case, but this time I was able to find all I needed in my stash.

Lots of stains, inks and embossing were used on this tag.  I got to use a sentiment from a new stamp set by Tim on this tag.  I don't know many people who strive to be ordinary, why not try to be unique!

If you haven't tried making a tag of your own, I would suggest you visit  Tim's blog and he will show you how to make one, and give it your own spin!  Looking forward to seeing what the February tag will be and what new things I can learn and share.

I'm So Thankful For You

Hi, guys! Today I am sharing a Thanksgiving card I made using an envelope to be able to insert a pair of tea bags into it.  I used the Tim Holtz Splatter Stencil with various Distress Inks.  The sentiment was embossed in copper.

Supplies:
Stamps: Inkadinkado
Paper: Envelope
Ink: Distress Inks, Versamark
Misc.: Stampin' Up Cooper Embossing Powder, Ribbon

As you may recall, I am exploring a new hobby. I picked up a pair of fountain pens to use in my cards, and some fun inks.  I submitted this card to the Goulet Pen Company for their Thanksgiveaway contest.   This fun company shares online videos and tutorials that I have found so helpful in learning more about my pens and how to use and take care of them.  Hope they like this inky card!

Until next time!

You Are My Sunshine

Hi, guys! Hope all is well! Today I am sharing a card I made for my friend Ruth to give her husband for his birthday.  I used my Tim Holtz Ray Stencil and my Dylusions Spray mists.

Supplies:
Stamps: Studio G
Paper: Watercolor paper, Gina K (Black)
Ink: Archival Black, Dylusions Sprays, Distress Ink, Distress Markers

This was a lot of fun to make.  I really love to use watercolor paper with my spray inks.  The colors just pop and are so vibrant.

Wishing Joe a very Happy Birthday!

Until next time!
