Tea Time Tuesday - Floral Power

This Tea Time Tuesday I am sharing a piece of my tea cup collection with you.  This bright floral set was a gift my husband gave me when we were dating as he knew daisies are my favorite flowers and they are depicted on the cup.  He bought it at the florist shop we eventually used for our wedding.  I love the shape and the happy bright colors, too.

Since I shared a floral tea cup with you, I thought I would share a floral card I made.  This card had a heat embossed image on watercolor paper, and the background was various Distress Inks and a pearl colored mist.  This card was made for someone who is sick and has a long recovery ahead of them, so I wanted it to be colorful and happy.

I think you can tell by all these florals that I am really anxious for Spring to arrive!  This week we are expecting continued frigid weather.  I hope you are experiencing some nice weather where you are!

Everything Is Better With A Friend!

Hi, guys!  Had some Distress Ink fun today!  I made a card for my friend Christine to give our mutual friend Ruth for her birthday.  Both these ladies are some of the biggest fans of my work and show me so much support.  They both have me make cards for all their special occasions, so Christine wanted one made for Ruth!

I decided to pull out my Distress Inks and some Perfect Pearls Mist.  Christine loves butterflies and I know Ruth does too, so I decided to use my Martha Stewart butterfly punch on this card.  The butterfly is layered with 3 colors from the card and attached down the body of the butterfly which allowed the wings to be bent to mimic flight.

Supplies:
Ink: Versafine Black, Distress Inks, Perfect Pearls (Gold)
Paper: Watercolor Paper, Gina K Designs
Stamps: Hero Arts
Misc.: Clear Embossing Powder, Oval Punches, Martha Stewart Butterfly Punches, Bling, Pearls (colored with Copic Markers to match)

It is hard to see in the picture, but the watercolor paper was sprayed with gold Perfect Pearls which gave it a nice shine and helped blend the inks even more.

Wishing Ruth the happiest of birthdays!

Hope you have a fun day and find some time to do something you love!

Happy Thanksgiving Using Twinkling H2O's

Hi, guys! Today I made another Thanksgiving card. I decided to use Twinkling H2O's. If you do not know what they are, they are little pots of shimmering watercolors.  You spritz water into the pots and paint the color on.  The shine is so beautiful to see.  I haven't used them in quite some time and I plan to use them a lot more often.

Supplies:
Stamps: Stampers Anonymous
Ink: Archival Black
Paper: Watercolor, Gina K Designs, Recollections
Misc.: Gold Perfect Pearl Mist, Gold Gems, Water, Scallop Punch

As you can tell, I am really enjoy this blueprint stamp set.  The images are so lovely and you can use them for many occasions, but I am loving them for Fall.

Have a great day, and hope you are enjoying your Autumn!  It is my favorite season and hope these cards are doing it justice.

True Friends

Hi, guys!  Hope your day is going well.  Today I am sharing a card I made for my husband's friend Mike. When my hubby and I got married, he had two best men.  Mike was one of them.   I enjoy making cards for Mike, as he always seems to enjoy receiving them. He is very artistic and so I am touched when I hear how he enjoys them.

Supplies:
Stamps: Hero Arts
Paper: Stampin' Up
Ink: Distress Inks
Misc.: Ribbon, Perfect Pearls (Metalics)

For this card,  I used various colors of distress inks and then used quite a few metallic Perfect Pearl Mists. It really gave it a cool shine and metallic look.  By using the mist with the distress inks, I was able to get them to blend nicely together.

Here's wishing Mike all the best this year!  We consider him a gift each and every day!

Until next time!

Happy Birthday Titi Pilar (Distress Inked Poppies)

Hi, guys!  Today I made a card for a friend's aunt.  She needed it to be written in Spanish and gave me the sentiment for both the outside and inside.  I, unfortunately only speak English, so this was a joint effort.  For this card, I white embossed the image and inked it with various shades of blue and green distress inks.  I then sprayed it with Perfect Pearls mist to blend and give it a pearlized look.

Supplies:
Stamps: Stamp Camp
Ink: Versamark, Distress Inks
Paper: Gina K Designs
Misc.: Ribbon, Oval Punches, Gems, White Embossing Powder, Perfect Pearls

I understand the aunt was extremely happy with the card and especially that it had had her name on it and that it was written in Spanish in the inside.  It sure made my day to hear it!

Hope you find some time today to do something you love!

Chalkboard Love and Birthday Card For A Babysitter

Hi, guys! Hope your weekend was a good one.  Mine was very productive and very INKY!  I had a bunch of cards to work on for various people.  As I worked, the cards needed started to multiply.  Isn't it funny how that seems to happen?

First list:

List as it stands now:

So, as you can see, I still have a few cards to work on during the week. Can you tell I just love my new chalkboard?  I am sad they are phasing them out of schools. There is something about writing in chalk that I love!

How about I share one of the cards I completed with you? This card I made for a friend to give to celebrate her babysitter's birthday. It was great hearing how wonderful a person and sitter Merla is. Knowing you have a caring and special person caring for your daughter when you are working outside the home must give you such peace of mind.

Supplies:
Stamps: Stamp Camp
Paper: Grape Note Card The Ink Pad NYC, Gina K (Black)
Ink: Versafine Black, Distress Inks, Perfect Pearls Spray (Sunflower)
Misc.: Clear Embossing Powder, Gems, Oval Punches, Computer Generated Name

I love heat embossing cards. It gives such shine and texture to any piece you work on. Perfect Pearl sprays are great to use. I normally find myself just reaching for the Pearl color, but decided to use Sunflower as I thought the vibrant gold/yellow would go great with the shades of purple distress inks.

Wishing Tita Merla a very blessed birthday!  Hope your day is a great one too!

Happy Birthday, Girlfriend

Hi, guys! Hope you are having a great day.  I have been celebrating a lot of birthdays lately with my girlfriends.  I thought today I would share a card I made for my friend Monika.

Supplies:
Stamps: Unity
Ink: Versamark, Distress Inks
Paper: Papertrey Ink
Misc: White Embossing Powder. Perfect Pearl Mist (Pearl)

I am very lucky to have a great group of friends.  I met Monika through my co-worker and now good friend Mariola.  When my husband died, Mariola befriended me and introduced me to her niece Monika and and two of her best friends.  They took me into their group and helped me laugh again.  I never would have thought at that point in my life that I would, but the gathering of friends has a way of helping mend one's soul. Laughter truly is the best medicine!   The group is fondly named for Jane Austen, a society that celebrates all things "Jane" and tea.  So this card with the lovely teacup seemed appropriate to me.   We love tea shops, tea parties, dressing up for royal weddings and making homemade pierogi (even if mine look odd!), and Colin Firth is our favorite Mr. Darcy.

Wishing you a great day, and some very special friends!
