December Tag - Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2013

Hi, guys! Hope all is well.  This is the last month of 2013, and so I am sharing the last of my tags for the Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2013.  While I was making my tag, I made an extra poinsettia to use for packaging.  My sister loves scratch-lottery tickets and gift cards, so I decided to make a small envelope using some of Tim's vintage Christmas paper that I love.  I then attached the poinsettia to it to make it extra special.

I am often asked what I do with all the tags I make.  Well, this December tag was used to give a bottle of wine as a gift.  I feel it gives the gift a personal touch.

I am looking forward to seeing what Tim comes up with in 2014, as I am sure it will be fun creating along with him, and, more importantly, learning some new things.

Happy 87th Birthday, Cal!

Hi, guys! Hope all is well!  Today I will be sharing a card I made for my father-in-law Cal for his 87th birthday.  I decided to emboss the front using the Tim Holtz Alterations embossing folder. I used Core-dinations Kraft cardstock (new to me) and sanded it to reveal the kraft center.  Remember those Scrabble Tiles I have been saving? Well, they found a home on this card.  I used Distress Stains to color the ribbon and age the appearance of it.

Ink: Distress Ink (Vintage Photo), Distress Stain (Vintage Photo)
Misc.: Mini Scrabble Tiles, Tim Holtz Gears, Tim Holtz Ribbon, Tim Holtz Alterations Pocket Watch Embossing Folder

For the sentiment inside the card, I used a stamp by Sweet 'n Sassy that reads: Your Influence In My Life is Timeless.  Perfect to use with pocket watches, I think.

Getting Inky with Tim

Hi, guys!  Yesterday was Day 1 of the online card class being taught by Tim Holtz.  It was a blast and he is an amazing teacher.  I would highly recommend you check it out.  This first tag is what I made last night.

Supplies:
Tag: Ranger manila
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress ink and stains, Archival black
Other: Butterflies stamped using JudiKins Mica gloss
Stamps: Stampers Anonymous, River City Rubber Works


Today was Day 2 of the class and we really focused on Tim's line of distress inks.  I can't share how the techniques were done, but I can share my work.   We learned 3 fun and inky techniques.
