Spring Has Sprung - Holy Communion Time

Spring is here, and the requests for 1st Holy Communion cards have begun!  This is the first one that I made for this season.  It is for a little boy named (you guessed it) Max.

Supplies:
Stamps: Catholic Rubber Stamps
Paper: BoBunny, GinaK Designs
Ink: Archival Black
Misc.: Spellbinders Circle Dies, Memory Box Die

For a different look, I decided not to color the focal image of the little boy.  Against the dark color papers, I think he really stands out nicely.

Wishing Max and all those children who receive their 1st Holy Communion this year every happiness.

Until next time!

Personalized Holy Communion Cards

Hi, guys! Hope you are enjoying your weekend!  This weekend we will be celebrating Mother's Day and my nephew's Holy Confirmation.  I will share the cards I made for each next week (so not to spoil the surprise!).

I have been asked to make a lot of personalized Holy Communion cards this year.  It is funny to me that last year I made a bunch of them, but all for little boys.  This year there was not one boy in the bunch, but a bunch of little girls.  I used the same stamp for each of the girls, just changed up the hair color on each.  My friend wanted a card made with a lily of the valley theme. I used glossy card stock and heat embossed the background of this one.

The focal image stamp is from Catholic Rubber stamps.

I thought I would share a Mother's Day card I made for my friend Peter to give to his mom.  His mom is a big gardener and he wanted yellow flowers incorporated in the card.  She is currently helping him plant yellow flowers in pots in his garden.  I thought this was a perfect image to  use for her!

I cannot wait to spend the day with my mom on Sunday.  In the mom department, I hit the jackpot!

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there! Until next time!

Deanera's First Holy Communion

Hi, guys! Hope your day is going well!  It is Spring and many young people are making their First Holy Communion.  I was asked if I could make one of my cards for a friend's granddaughter who is receiving the sacrament in a few weeks.  I made a card for this little girl for her birthday, and she loved seeing her name on the card, so that was the only request I had to follow.

Supplies:
Stamps: Catholic Rubber Stamps, Lawn Fawn (Banner)
Paper: Gina K Designs, Carta Bella (True Friends)
Ink: Memento Black, Copic Markers
Misc.: Lawn Fawn (Banner Die), Spellbinders Square Dies, White Ribbon, Tim Holtz Ideology Rosette Ribbon, Pearl

I am always so touched to be asked to make a card for such a special occasion in a person's life.  This is such an important step for Deanera, and I wish her and her family many blessings.

Until next time!

First Holy Communion Card (For A Girl)

Hi, guys! Today I am sharing a card I was commissioned to make for a friend.  Her niece is making her First Holy Communion in May and she wanted a personalized card for her.  I was able to make her blonde like Madeleine using Distress Markers.  The card is embossed, and I used various Spellbinders Dies to frame the image. The flowers are paper, and I used Distress Inks to apply a touch of color to them.

Supplies:
Stamps: Catholic Rubber Stamps
Paper: Gina K Designs, Papertrey Ink
Ink: Black Archival, Distress Markers
Misc.: Spellbinders Dies, Flowers, Gems

Wishing Madeleine and her family many blessings as they celebrate this Holy Sacrament.

Until next time!

Holy Communion Cards and Potato Casserole

Hi, guys!  Hope you are having a great weekend.  I mentioned the other day that this weekend we would be celebrating my niece's First Holy Communion.  I thought I would share the card I made for her.

Stamps: Catholic Rubber Stamps

I made a few other cards for family and friends to give as well.

Stamps: Delta, Paper Angel

My sister made these adorable nugget favors.  She uses computer software to make these.  Everyone loved them.

When we have family functions I am asked to make potato casserole.  It is a great recipe.  If you travel the highways of the U.S. you probably have come across Cracker Barrel restaurants.  The recipe I use is one similar to the one that they make.  My young nephew emailed me to remind me to bring one to the Communion lunch.

It is delicious and I recommend you give it a try sometime if you need to take a dish to someone.  I had to leave the party with my mom and a friend to attend my husband's show.  My sister was supposed to save some for us for when we returned and we came back to an empty dish!  I think that speaks well for this recipe.

Have a great night!   I will be back tomorrow with the final Mother's Day cards I made.
