Happy New Year and Many Thanks!

Hi, guys! Hope you are enjoying a lovely holiday!  Last night my husband and I took our niece Amanda to see The Nutcracker at Lincoln Center here in NYC.  It was a delightful time and truly a memorable evening.  Amanda is 8 and has been taking ballet since she was 3 and has wanted to go see a ballet for a while.  I waited on taking her as I wanted her to be able to remember the first time she went and to be able to appreciate all the beauty and grace.

One of the highlights was a dancer who was taking photos with guests.  Amanda got her picture taken and was able to "strike a pose" with her.  It was so special.  I love how the picture turned out.

If you live in NYC or plan to spend time here during the holidays some time, I would highly recommend you take in this wonderful ballet.  It is truly remarkable.  Amanda and I are both having a hard time picking out our favorite part.

I wanted to wish you all a very Happy New Year!  Thanks for all the kindness and encouragement you have given me this year starting my blog.  You have made 2012 a great one and I look forward to sharing and learning with you next year!

Eight is a good age to be able to appreciate the ballet, especially the Nutcracker which can get kid of scary (and boring) in parts. I am sure it is something she will remember forever.

Some of my most fondest memories is when I shared the Nutcracker ballet with my daughter when she was young. It looks like you had an equally enjoyable time.

I have to admit that I'm envious of those awesome glasses, to bring in the new year. They are totally rockin'

Looking forward to 2013 and seeing your creativity!

Happy New Year!
Hugs!

Girl, i wanted to take my teens to see this, but they saw it `when they were in elementary school and have no interest now! lol. i've either got to wait till the preschoolers grow up or the teens are old enough to appreciate it again.
