WOYWW #231- Painterly Celery Fun

Hi, guys! Hope all is well!  Today is Wednesday, so I am sharing what is on my work desk with you.  Thank you to Julia for all the desk-hopping fun!

I am currently working on cards for my pen pal Elizabeth.  She asked me to make a pair of my celery cards for her.  This weekend I made a bunch of soup (spicy sausage lentil, and homemade chicken soup) in order to have some celery on hand to stamp with this week.  The benefit is having a freezer filled with yummy soups on a week that I know is going to be busy with overtime and household matters.

Studio Paints by Ranger are a favorite of mine.  Very nice texture and easy to use.

I am looking forward to visiting with a bunch of you today and seeing what you are working on!

Enjoy the day!  Until next time!

How clever, we thought you meant the celery was card rolled up at first! What a great effect.

Wow! What a clever idea, thanks for sharing. I'll have to pick up some paint for my son to try this (and stay out of my hair) on Thanksgiving. What kind of paint works best with this project if I can't find that Ranger paint at Hobby Lobby?

I've read about using "common" things to stamp with more often, but I've never done it! I don't know why though. The celery stamping is beautiful.

Lovely use of celery!! Can't stand eating it myself, but maybe - just maybe - using it in this way was the very reason why it was created by God in the first place? What do you reckon??
Have a great week.

Printing with veg is kinda cute I reckon.Haven't done it since College Art days, but hasve been looking at tutorials on making own stamps.Doesn't seem to hard. You can buy the tools quite cheaply- to carve stamps.

That is so clever and I'm sure my kids would much prefer that celery was used this way instead of them eating it!
The celery gives such a fabulous effect, I love it.

Hi Winnie -- these cards are so inspiring. LOVE THEM. I make celery sticks as a diabetic snack for hubby almost every week, so guess what I'll be trying soon! You are definitely well-organized and prepared to work overtime! Me...not so much, try as I might. But that's okay! Just thought I'd stop and say hi! I'm going to my stamping room for some fun!

Oh how cool is this!! I tend to not think outside the box much so this is seriously neat. I love the effect the celery gives when stamping. Maybe I will have to tell my mom to save some for me next time she makes soup (I'm not a big celery fan lol)

I'm amazed! If I hadn't seen the celery there I would have not believed it! Thanks so much for sharing this fun and beautiful tip!
